Help refugees in Scotland find their Welcome!
Welcome Churches are seeking to employ a Scotland Coordinator to specifically support churches across Scotland to welcome refugees into their communities.
From families from Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Eritrea who are being relocated, to those arriving from Hong Kong who are planning a new life in Scotland, there is a great opportunity to Welcome the Stranger. At Welcome Churches there is an urgent need to establish support who can engage with local churches, better understand local needs, and develop relationship-based partnerships to deliver key support.
Local churches are excellently placed to ensure that those seeking refuge in Scotland are welcomed into the community. The Scotland Coordinator will lead to strengthened ties and relationships with churches across Scotland, allowing for increased opportunities for training and collaboration. This role will ensure we can meet the needs of local churches and provide the support needed to assist the integration of refugees and asylum seekers. Ultimately, we are seeking to achieve our aim for all refugees to be welcomed by the local Church.
Your donations will make a direct contribution to establishing and maintaining this essential role and seek to ensure that all refugees in Scotland are able to find their Welcome. Donations will be used to support the work of a coordinator in Scotland and local initiatives. Excess funds may be used to support work in other regions of the UK as required. If insufficient funds are raised to support a coordinator, funds will be used as much as possible to benefit work in Scotland.
