We’re hiring for 3 UKHK Project Managers

By 5th October 2021 October 12th, 2021 Updates

HOURS: Full time – 37.5 hours per week.
SALARY: £32,000
CONTRACT: Temporary, 5 Months

We have an exciting opportunity for three Project Managers to help grow our UKHK project, helping to welcome people from Hong Kong to the UK when they first arrive.

The UKHK project, founded by Dr Krish Kandiah, has grown quickly since the beginning of 2021. It is now a project of Welcome Churches in collaboration with the Chinese Overseas Christian Mission, Upbeat Communities, and other partner charities. UKHK has been set up to help welcome the hundreds of thousands of Hong Kongers expected to arrive in the UK in the next few years, with 130,000 expected to arrive this year alone. This includes enabling UK churches to welcome Hong Kongers in their communities through the Hong Kong Ready Churches network, providing information and support to Hong Kongers arriving in the UK, and encouraging government and civil society more broadly to welcome new arrivals.

We have currently applied for significant government funding to develop our integration projects for new arrivals from Hong Kong to the UK. If our funding application is successful, we will be required to begin project delivery at the end of October 2021 for 5 months.
We have proposed projects in the following areas:
Social integration
Professional integration
Educational integration

We are looking to employ 3 highly-motivated project managers to ensure that we can complete these ambitious projects by the end of March 2022. Each project manager will take responsibility for one of these areas, and support the other project managers to ensure that all projects are completed on time.
