Afghan Project
Three-Year Impact Report

After the Taliban seized Kabul on August 15, 2021, thousands of Afghans fled in search of safety. In response to this urgent crisis, Welcome Churches quickly launched an emergency plan to support those seeking refuge from the dangers in their homeland.

Welcoming Afghans

A Three-Year Journey of Hope and Integration

Discover how we’ve spent the past three years developing and launching a range of initiatives to help integrate Afghan refugees into our communities. From providing immediate necessities to connecting refugees with local churches, our efforts ensure access to healthcare, education, and housing while creating welcoming spaces and lasting connections where they can truly feel at home in the UK.

Afghan Resources

The comprehensive online hub for refugees offers vital information about life in the UK, including healthcare, housing, education, employment, finance, food and necessities.

This online platform connects refugees with potential hosts for accommodation. To date, we have received over 50 expressions of interest from individuals and families willing to host or rent to refugees.

This 6-session program includes videos and discussions designed to assist refugees in integrating into life in the UK. The program is available in Dari, Pashto, and Farsi.

This series of 3 videos helps refugees understand potential well-being and mental health challenges. It provides practical tips and strategies for improving well-being and mental health, and offers information about local support.
