We are excited to offer the following translation options:
Arriving in a new country is a daunting experience. Life is different, and you quickly have to adjust to a new cultural landscape.
You probably have a lot of questions about life in the UK. ‘If only there were friendly, understanding people to show us the ropes! People, we could feel safe to ask questions and share our own stories with. A safe space to share, to ask and to learn.’ We would like to invite you, churches and Christian organisations in the UK, to help build a welcoming space, by hosting The Welcome Course for people in your neighbourhood.
The Welcome Course provides a tool to bridge the relational gap between new arrivals and the local community. Attendees can develop English conversational skills and confidence, build friendships, learn about British culture, be signposted to services, and share their knowledge of their own culture. Six short professionally-produced videos will provide light-hearted inspirational conversation and discussion starters. We have various translations of the course available.

Welcome Course Preview

Video Content
Each episode includes 4 parts: Welcome, Explain, Guests’ stories and a Wrap-Up. We have made the course interactive with discussions and fun quizzes in the intervals to encourage participation and sharing.
Course and length format
The sessions will be run over six weeks, within smaller discussion groups, giving people a chance to ask questions and discuss video content. Each session will last an hour or so, depending on how individual churches and communities decide to run it and may include food.
