Nowruz Information Session

Join us for an information session about Nowruz, a Middle Eastern festival that marks the beginning of Spring. You may have Iranians, Kurds and Afghans within your church community who would like to celebrate this festival with you. But what is it about? And what sort of Christian element can you bring to the celebrations?

Discussion will follow the presentation, exploring Kurdish and Persian ethnic identity, addressing some challenging questions about the Zoroastrian roots of Nowruz, but also the opportunities within this Spring Festival to celebrate God's creation and to consider how Christ could be the solution to the plight expressed in the Zahak and Kawa legend.

This session will be led by Jerry Fowler, who works in intercultural ministry in Oxford & Iraqi Kurdistan, in partnership with Adam Martin, Intercultural Church UK on Friday 17th February, 12 to 1pm. Come ready to share your experiences, to ask questions, and to find out more.
