Walk to Welcome
6. What Happens Next?
Thank you for choosing to be part of Walk to Welcome.
Whether you organise a sponsored walk, a bake sale, a cycling challenge, a community event, or something entirely unique, your efforts are helping more refugees find welcome, friendship, and belonging through local churches across the UK.
We are deeply grateful for your support and for standing with refugees and people seeking asylum in this practical and meaningful way.
What Happens Next?
Once your fundraising event is complete:
1. Celebrate Your Achievement
Take a moment to celebrate with everyone who supported you along the way. Whether you raised £50 or £5,000, your contribution matters and will help churches welcome refugees and people seeking asylum across the UK.
2. Transfer Any Offline Donations
If you have used an online fundraising platform, donations may already have been processed automatically. If you collected cash, cheques, or other offline donations, or if your chosen platform indicates these offline donations need to be sent directly to Welcome churches, please contact finance@welcomechurches.org for bank details and a reference number so we know who this money is from and what it is for.
3. Tell Us How It Went
Share your story about this event with us. Your experience will encourage others to take part in future Walk to Welcome campaigns!
4. Stay Connected
Walk to Welcome is just one way to support refugees and people seeking asylum through the support of the Welcome Churches Network. We would love to keep in touch and share stories, resources, and opportunities to continue building communities of welcome across the UK.
Enquiries and Contact
If you have any questions before, during, or after your fundraiser, we would be delighted to help. Email us at info@welcomechurches.org.
No question is too small. Whether you need help setting up your fundraiser, promoting your event, transferring donations, or sharing your story, please get in touch.
Together, we can help more refugees connect to a nearby local church, where they are welcomed, valued, and never alone.
