The more people hear about your fundraiser, the greater your opportunity to raise funds and awareness for refugees. Your friends and family will be inspired by hearing why a cause matters to you. A simple message, a photo, and a clear invitation to support can go a long way.
A. Social Media Posts
We've created a selection of Walk to Welcome posters and graphics that you can personalise and share on social media, church newsletters, WhatsApp groups, and community noticeboards.

Your own photograph
You can write social media posts to invite your community to support your target, or keep them posted about how you are progressing in your challenge! Simply post a photo (or the video if you are doing a post-event post), and write your own posts or adapt the sample texts in the Walk to Welcome info pack.
Personalise the materials or come up with your own, so your community can connect with your goal and challenge!
If you would like to, posting progress updates ("Halfway to my target!", "Training walk completed!", etc.) are also fun ways to invite your friends and family to come onboard and join your fundraiser at different stages of preparation / progression.
C. WhatsApp Messages
WhatsApp can be one of the most effective ways to invite friends and family to support your fundraiser. Add an image to catch your family’s attention and invite them to support or join you!

Using hashtags on social media posts can help more people discover your fundraiser and learn about the campaign. We recommend using:

D. Church notices and Sunday service announcements
If you are fundraising through your church community, or if you would like to invite your church to join in, ask your church leaders about announcing your fundraising in church notices or announcements!
