Our vision is for every refugee to be welcomed by a local church
If every church welcomed people seeking refuge in their community then we could easily see our vision become a reality!
No matter where your church is, there is something that you can do to welcome refugees and asylum seekers into your community.
How do we accomplish this?
The Welcome Network
The Welcome Network, at the heart of Welcome Churches' ministry, is dedicated to connecting refugees and people seeking asylum with local church communities. It serves as a platform for churches that are actively involved in welcoming these individuals, offering visibility and resources to enhance their outreach, and enabling refugees and other organisations / people working to support refugees and people seeking asylum to collaborate with churches.
The Welcome Network equips churches in several ways:
Providing access to a secure platform where they can be connected, easily and securely, to refugees and people seeking asylum wanting to connect.
Offering a Resource Hub filled with training materials, videos, and other tools to help churches better welcome and support refugees.
Regularly sharing updates on new training opportunities, resources, and important news.
Enabling church volunteers to access the resources through personalized log-ins.
Offering direct contact with a Church Engagement Officer for guidance and support in developing refugee outreach initiatives.
The Welcome Network aims to make every church a place of welcome, belonging, and support for refugees and people seeking asylum.
Our Projects
The comprehensive online hub for refugees offers vital information about life in the UK, including healthcare, housing, education, employment, finance, food and necessities.
This online platform connects refugees with potential hosts for accommodation. To date, we have received over 50 expressions of interest from individuals and families willing to host or rent to refugees.
This project connects churches and civic organisations to support Hong Kongers arriving in the UK. It offers training, resources, and a platform for new arrivals to find welcoming churches through its national map.
We produce a wide range of resources, including training videos and guides, to help churches to welcome refugees. We also provide materials in refugees' native languages, such as cultural and emotional wellbeing courses, and books for children and teenagers, to support their integration and spiritual growth in the UK.
