Could your church welcome and support a refugee family through the new Named Community Sponsorship Scheme?
Community Sponsorship was first launched in the UK in 2016, but until now it did not allow sponsor groups to choose the family that they would be welcoming. The UK Government has now launched a new approach to resettlement called Named Community Sponsorship. Based on a model that has been running in Canada for over 40 years, this new scheme will enable churches and community groups to name the refugee family that they will be welcoming before they arrive in the UK.This webinar will help you understand what we know so far, what remains unclear, and how you can start preparing.
We will explore:
What is Community Sponsorship, and how does it differ from the new model?
What are the benefits of Named Community Sponsorship?
How can church and community groups participate?
