Come, Share, Pray

Written by Emily Shepherd, CEO of Welcome Churches

Over the last few weeks, many of us have become increasingly concerned about some of our friends who are seeking asylum in the UK who are at risk of detention and deportation to Rwanda. Whilst we are expecting this to impact a small proportion of the asylum seeking population to begin with, many of our asylum-seeking friends are increasingly worried about what their future holds. We are also hearing reports of individuals known to churches in the Welcome Network who have been detained in preparation to be sent to Rwanda soon.

We are calling on the UK Church to pray at this time. From 13-17 May, we are holding a week of prayer, to pray for our asylum seeking friends who are fearful of deportation to Rwanda. We are inviting you to come, share and pray.

Come - to a 30 minute online prayer meeting, either at 7am or 1pm each day, to join the Welcome Churches team and Christians from across the UK to pray with and for our asylum seeking friends

Share - those known to you who are fearful at this time. Share your prayer requests with us and let us stand together in prayer

Pray - for those known to us and for others seeking asylum who are at risk of being deported to Rwanda. We will also be praying for our churches, communities and government at this time.
